Microsoft 365: Free Up Space

Your One Drive on Microsoft 365 comes with 1 TB of storage as standard.

You may find at some point that you have been saving your documents to your PC's hard drive, which will start to cause issues such as reduced speed and performance.

To rectify this issue, you can move your items from the disk space to One Drive.

Right click your desktop screen to bring up this menu. Click on "Free up space".

Next, you will see this progress bar, which will show you how many items will be moved to One Drive cloud storage.

Once the sync is complete, you will see this message. It is showing you that your files have been moved online and that you can still choose to have certain files remain on your PC by right-clicking the item and choosing "Always keep on this device".

Your desktop will now show a cloud next to your files, indicating that they are in One Drive but still accessible from your desktop as long as you are connected to the internet.
