Detailed Process
Part 1. Filing emails automatically
Open a new email or reply to an existing email.
Select the Lexis Affinity tab in the ribbon toolbar and click Select Matter (Note: there may be a 5 second delay after clicking while Affinity processes the list)
A list of your recent matters will now appear in the Matter Selection menu. You can now either select one of the recent matters or click Select Matter to find another matter number.
Once a matter is selected, a code will be added to the subject line, this is the mechanism that Affinity used to file the email automatically once you send it.
Note: Whenever you reply to a message with this code in the subject, Affinity will continue to file the message automatically when you click send.
Part 2. Filing emails manually
To save an email to a matter, open the email and choose "Save As" from the Affinity menu.
Save Attachments and click "Ok".
Fill in as per usual and choose "Ok".
In your inbox, you can now see that the Matter column reflects matter number the email was saved to.
If you don’t have the Matter column, please see this article on how to add it.
