Key Points
This article will outline 4 ways to load a document into Affinity.
1. "Click, Drag Method"
2. "Save As"
3. "Save to"
4. "Import" visa the Affinity Matter window
Detailed Process
1. "Click, Drag Method"
Open Affinity to 'Documents' tab. Click document on desktop and drag into Affinity pane.
This will open the document management interface.
Here we can check the matter information to make sure it is saved correctly. Choose the "Move" option and "OK". The document will be saved in Affinity and deleted from the desktop.
2. "Save As"
Open the document in Word.
Click on the Lexis Affinity tab.
If the document does not exist in Affinity and you are saving it for the first time, you must use the "Save As" function.
From here you can search for the Matter. You may need to add further information (description, etc.) because the info is not populated from the file name like it is with the "Click Drag" method.
Click OK and it will save.
3. "Save to"
This option doesn't work from Outlook, so you will need to drag the file to the desktop or another folder.
Right click the file, choose "Send to", "Affinity".
This will open the docman interface. Select a matter and complete details as before.
4. "Import" visa the Affinity Matter window
In Affinity, click the "Add document" icon.
The docman pane will open.
It will know the matter number but to find the document you will need to choose "Path", then
choose where to retrieve the file from.
Add your description/details and "OK" as before.
