Managed PC: Understanding PC Security

Your PC has been set up in line with Microsoft’s recommended Security Baselines, which are designed to provide a robust layer of protection against various threats. While these settings are integral to maintaining your PC's security, they may impact the installation and functionality of some applications. Here's what you need to know:

Admin Level Access and Application Installation

Users with Admin level access have the ability to install new applications. However, due to the Microsoft Security Baselines, certain installations might be blocked. This is particularly common if an application's installer is not in line with Microsoft’s stringent security principles.

Compatibility with Security Settings

Some applications may require specific adjustments to Firewall, AntiVirus, and Network settings to function correctly in your environment.

Assistance from Innessco Helpdesk

If you encounter issues with installing or running a new application, please contact the Innessco Helpdesk. Our team can reconfigure your environment to accommodate the new application. Please be aware that determining the exact settings required for a new application and deploying these settings to all firm PCs is considered a project, will require approval of your Office Manager and can take several days to complete.
