Hosted Desktop: Spam Email

The system has a SPAM filter in place. The filter has two levels:

Emails that are most obviously SPAM (i.e. the old Viagra emails) are blocked and not delivered to your Inbox.

Emails that are potentially SPAM are diverted to your Junk Email folder.

The algorithm that determines what is potentially SPAM is not 100% accurate – so if you are expecting an email please check you Junk Email folder.

If you receive an email in your Inbox that is SPAM and you want the system to detect it as a SPAM email in the future, Outlook allows you to Block the Sender.

To do this, open the email, select the Junk button in the menu and then select Block Sender.

If you find an email in your Junk Email folder you don’t want tagged as SPAM in the future, then open the email, select Junk and select Never Block Sender or Never Block Senders Domain.
